Dancing To Her Own Tempo; an Interview of Lai Rupe
Interview of Alaina Rupe - All About Dance
A note from Alaina Rupe:
Hey Readers, I wanted to share a recent interview of Lai Rupe's Choreography. I hope you like it as you learn a little bit more about where I come from and why I dance. As always, thanks for your love and support!

As a choreographer, one of the most important things to do is to define yourself and stand out. This is why Lai Rupe, CEO of Lai Rupe's Choreography has worked so hard to dance to my own tempo and choreograph routines that she enjoys and that show who she really is. In a recent interview by Dance User Magazine, we asked Alaina Rupe all about how she has managed to dance to her own tempo and become a professional choreographer.
"Dancing to your own beat is easy. You know you are creating a routine that is purely 'YOU', when the moves just come easily. However, as a professional choreographer, sometimes you do have to simplify movements or change them to better fit the dance team or company you are choreographing for. This can make choreographing more difficult, but it doesn't mean that you still shouldn't stick to your guns and choreograph a routine you like," explains Alaina. "Dancing is all about sharing your passion for the beautiful art. It is about making movements that say something and inspire audience members to feel what you are feeling. Dancing is about expressing your inner soul, when you do this, everything else just falls into place."

We were astonished by the depth that Choreographer Alaina dove into as she explains why it is so important to dance to your own tempo. She continued to say that, "as a choreographer, when you dance purely from your heart, doing the first movements that come into your mind, that is when great art is created. When you try to deviate, that is when you begin to fall away from the true purpose of dance, and this is when the routines choreographed, just won't work. You should always dance to your own tempo, your own beats, your own desires."
Dance User then asked Alaina, "if it meant losing business would you turn someone down for a routine, if they wanted you to choreograph differently?" Alaina strongly replied saying,
"First - always take care of your dancers! If you have an opportunity to share your love for dancing, do whatever it takes to share it. Sometimes you will lose clients over sticking to your choreography, it will happen. This is because not everyone will like or want YOUR style, and that is okay. If a client wants me to choreograph a stylized routine that goes against my heart, I will turn them down. I do not choreograph or teach for money. I teach to share the beauty of dance."
After interviewing this rapidly growing choreography star, eyes were opened about why she is successful. It is because Lai Rupe's Choreography isn't afraid to dance to their own tempo.
